4 Inescapable Places in Lyon

You have just arrived in Lyon to start your studies at ISEG and you don’t know what to do? I will advise you to first visit the city where you will be studying.

So, first you can visit ‘Vieux Lyon’ which is the former main area of Lyon (the medieval district). It is a very good place to walk and to hang out in the city. This area is mainly pedestrian and you can find shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and so on. It is very typical, so it is the first inescapable place.

After, you have the basilica ‘Notre Dame de Fourvière’ which dominates Lyon because it is in a high place, on a hill. Its architecture is very impressive and magnificent. From here, you have a fabulous view out over the whole city. It is really fantastic to see this place and take beautiful photos.

Then, you have the ‘Parc de la Tête d’Or’. It is a very huge park, one of the largest parks in France. It is relaxing place with a large area of green, plants, walkways and especially a zoo with different animals like giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, etc. It is also a very good place to do sports. A lot of people run through the park for example.

Finally, there is the ‘Place Bellecour’ which is the central place of Lyon and the biggest one. There are often events on this place. You can ride the big Ferris Wheel to have a beautiful view above the city of Lyon. It is a very nice place to go.

There are a lot of things and places to visit in Lyon, but these four places are for me, the four inescapable places to go and to see when you have just arrived!

I hope you will enjoy visiting this beautiful city.

P.S. You can check out my friend Océan’s post on her favorite places in Lyon.
